For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about wildlife and animal welfare, the environment, travel and photography. I picked up my first SLR camera as a teenager 40 years ago. Since then, I have always had a camera at hand. However, an increasingly hectic lifestyle saw my passion for photography dwindle to casual opportunities here and there.

 

When my husband and I relocated internationally for his work, I suddenly found myself with time on my hands. It was a chance encounter with a couple of local bird photographers, and the thrill of seeing and photographing, with much assistance, the 'star' birds present during that encounter, that my passion for photography and my love of birds and wildlife collided. 

 

Since then I have become an avid birder. I love nothing more than exploring the great outdoors and observing the incredible diversity of bird species that exist in my own backyard and wherever I am travelling to. I also thrive on the challenge of capturing beautiful images of these amazing creatures in their natural habitats and sharing such images in the hope of raising awareness of the natural beauty that surrounds us but is largely overlooked.
